Grade average calculator · weighted marks and GPA
Calculate weighted grade averages or GPA on 4/5 scales, optionally combining a previous average, without assuming one institution’s grade table.
Use equal weights for a simple average. For GPA, enter only counted credits. Repeat/exclusion rules vary by institution; a rounded previous GPA makes the result an estimate.
Your result, explained

- 87.50 / 100

How to use this tool
- Choose 100 for percentage marks, or 4/5 for GPA points. Enter each course’s points using your institution’s table; changing scale does not convert a mark.
- Enter each score and its weight or credits. Use equal weights for a simple mean. Average = sum(score × weight) / sum(weights).
- Example: 90 with weight 3 and 80 with weight 1 gives 87.50/100. To combine a previous GPA, add previous average × previous credits to weighted points, then divide by all credits.
A few useful answers
What is the difference between semester and cumulative GPA?
The semester result uses only the entered courses and their credits. For a cumulative result, include the previous GPA and counted credits on the same scale. Do not simply average two GPAs unless their credits are equal.
Can I use it for a school or university in any country?
Yes for general arithmetic with the correct scale, points and weights. Percentage-to-GPA mapping, failed/repeated courses and exclusions are not universal. Enter only officially counted credits; your institution’s transcript is authoritative.
Why is a combined average an estimate?
Previous averages may be rounded, and institutions may apply other rules. The tool does not ignore incomplete rows; correct or remove them before calculating.
Are my grades stored or sent to an institution?
No. Processing stays in your browser without uploads or saved history. Download/copy happen only when you choose them. Page URLs contain no inputs.
